CEO

Luca Barassi

As CEO of Abbey Road Institute, Luca Barassi was instrumental in creating and launching Abbey Road Institute in 2015. With a background in audio education spanning over 20 years as a Director, Lecturer, Studio Designer and Head of Technical Operations, he had a vision for creating a specialist music production education that meets the needs of the music industry and our students. Under his leadership, the Institute has grown to have schools across four continents, with developments across all business areas, including the expansion of our flagship school in London, which relocated to Islington in North London in 2021 and reopened the historic Angel Studios.

Programme Director

Carlos Lellis

Programme Director Carlos Lellis oversees the running and delivery of the Advanced Diploma in Music Production & Sound Engineering across all our schools. Leading the conception and design of our curriculum and teaching methods, Carlos works on an ongoing basis with the Abbey Road team and our industry network to ensure our courses are cutting-edge. He has worked as a professional musician, engineer and producer and he is the author of Music Production: Recording. He holds an MA in Creative Media and a diploma Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music.

Specialist Licensing Consultant

Pier Merlo

Pier Paolo Merlo is a specialist in franchising and licensing education internationally, with over 15 years of experience working with schools and universities across Europe, The Americas and the MENA region. In his role at Abbey Road Institute Pier supports new teams with establishing and managing their schools and provides ongoing support and guidance in management and operations for our family of Institutes.

Head of Marketing

Hannah Fitzgerald

In her role as Head of Marketing, Hannah Fitzgerald oversees the marketing strategy of our schools worldwide alongside licensing development to grow our network of Abbey Road Institutes. She collaborates with our international teams, providing guidance in all areas of marketing, sharing expertise and offering support on a school-by-school basis. Hannah works closely with the Abbey Road Studios team to ensure the Institutes’ brand and marketing activity are closely aligned. She is passionate about educating future audio professionals and bringing Abbey Road Institutes’ unique education to a wider audience.

Specialist IT/Tech Consultant

Robin Reumers

Robin Reumers is a Latin Grammy-winning audio engineer, educator, and product specialist who has worked in the music industry and audio education for many years. As part of the Abbey Road Institute team, he supports our schools' digital services, from virtual learning environments and websites to data security and more. Alongside his work in audio education, Robin is also the Director and product developer at his own plug-in company Leapwing Audio.
